High Court Rejects Alister Thomas’s Bid for 2023 Voter Picture List Over Privacy Concerns

11

The High Court has ruled against UPP’s Alister Thomas in his bid to gain access to the 2023 voter picture list, with Justice Jan Drysdale concluding that privacy concerns—particularly risks of identity theft and harassment—outweigh the need for public disclosure.

The case, filed under the Freedom of Information Act, could have significant implications for the future handling of electoral information in Antigua & Barbuda.

  1. He still living in the old man house? Alister where is the title deed for the house? Show it with your name on this legal document please

  2. All these frivolous cases are wasting the court’s time. Then we wonder why serious cases take so long to call. They’re a backlog on the docket. How would gaining the picture list help Alister? He lost. He actually got more votes than expected.
The Anthony Smith’ s case will be thrown out as well. There’s no there there.

  3. Well, no surprise there then.

The interlining connections between the judiciary and government is there for all to witness. Fact!

I’ve never come across soooo many court cases that favour the current incumbents. In addition, the delays in bringing cases that can – and should – cause the government harm, is kicked down the damn road.

I for one, cannot believe that the custom officers murder is still being delayed and strung out; yet many court cases that involve the “low hanging fruit” like the nurse who created false Covid-19 vaccine cards is being hounded out and fast-tracked.

GOOD LUCK TO THE ASW 3 – THEY ARE GOING TO NEED SOME SORTING OF DIVINE INTERVENTION TO SUCCEED THIS JUDICIAL CLOSED SHOP …

Antigua needs a clean-up from top to bottom!

  4. @Brixtonian
I’m so disappointed in your line of stinking thinking. I do not believe that you’re acusing the court of partiality. These judges are not even Antiguans. They’re sent here to work for finite periods, despite the administration that is in place. The case sounds nonsensical from the start. A picture list will prove what? Elections have a specific protocol for complaints. It’s called, “claims & objections”. Stop wasting the court’s time.
The ASW 3’s case will be thrown out as well. The young man violated no law. They’re just emotional about his resignation. Many others followed suit.

  5. Alister Thomas should pay legal costs. UPP has a BUNCH DUNCE Persons including Their Lawyers. Next is the case ANTHONY SMITH JR. VS Mr. WARNER. This will be thrown to COOKS DUMP. Which Lawyer advising UPP ? Alister Thomas looks so UGLY.Poor Fellow.
