Photos circulating on social media show the yellow earthmoving machine lying upside down on a steep hillside surrounded by trees and brush, with visible damage after apparently rolling off the roadway or work area.
The circumstances leading to the incident were not immediately clear, and authorities had not released any official information on what caused the machine to overturn.
There was no immediate confirmation of whether the operator sustained injuries or if anyone else was involved in the incident.
The accident drew attention after images were shared by the Road Accidents Antigua (RAA) Facebook page, with several social media users expressing relief that the incident did not appear to involve other vehicles.

Not surprised in the slightest. It appears that too many people are owning and operating these heavy vehicles and have no idea what they are doing. Backhoes speeding on the roads, large truck rigs that can’t turn corners without blocking traffic in both directions, cement mixers leaving their waste on the roads. The island needs to do better and require these people to undergo the strictest testing possible. They should also be made to go and annual. Review and testing. Their recklessness and careless attitudes are a danger to all road users and their incompetence causes incidents like this. We can do better.
Same idiots that drive reclessly on our roads endagering the rest of us.

You are so correct these heavy equipment such as backhoes, cement trucks, 18 wheelers etc. behave as though they are racing with you on the road daily, I often wonder where are the police, the government would collect lots of money for speeding
