A young mother is devastated after thieves broke into her car early Monday morning outside the Little Canton Supermarket, stealing her purse and a bag containing important documents, and sentimental items.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. while the woman’s vehicle was parked near the establishment. When she returned, she found the car ransacked and her belongings missing.

Among the stolen items were a red purse containing cash, identification cards, a driver’s license, social security and medical cards, and a Jamaican bank card. Also taken were IDs belonging to her late grandfather and other keepsakes she described as “deeply sentimental.”

The theft has left the victim emotionally and financially shaken as she struggles to replace her vital documents and recover from the loss.

Police are investigating the incident.

  1. Once a beautiful and safe paradise where you could go about your business without worrying who is going to harm you.

It is now a Haven for crime and all sorts of devious activities.

I guess that’s the price we’re paying for progress and an open door immigration policy of “whosoever will may come”.

  2. Why would anyone leave their purse and valuables in their car knowing that Antigua is a haven for thieves? You got to be smarter.

  3. I feel for her loss but how many timed must it be stressed not to leave valuables in a parked car at any time.
At 3am she had probably been out having a good time. Only to return to devastation.
To be honest I am sorry for the younger folk for one does not know what to do with valuables when one wants to party. Leave them at home – the home can be broken into and ransacked.
Take them with you – you can be attacked and real harm can also be visited upon your person.
Lock them away in your vehicle – they break into the vehicle, ransack it, take what you may or may not have stored away out of sight and you still have car repairs to deal with.
Put a burglar alarm on the car – by the time someone responds the thieves have already done their damage.
    What is one to do?
