The committal proceedings for former prison officer Dwight Peters, charged with the murder of 26-year-old inmate Ricknaldo Isaac, have been postponed to February 27 next year due to the prosecution’s incomplete case file.
Peters, a 36-year-old resident of Ovals, is out on $80,000 bail granted by the High Court on September 25, after initially being remanded due to the capital nature of the offense.
The case stems from an altercation in April that left Isaac paralyzed, with the inmate later dying in May due to complications from his injuries.
Isaac, who had epilepsy, was awaiting surgery at the time of his death. Peters’ arrest sparked protests among prison officers, who argued Isaac was “not a model prisoner.”
Peters had served nearly a decade as a prison officer before being transferred after the incident.

Hmmm. Prison officer they say. That cause will never stop being delayed until it just die out like a storm
Now imagine if that was the other way around. There would be absolutely no delays. He would’ve already been charged.
