A committal hearing for a 24-year-old man accused in the death of a visiting Guyanese law student has been adjourned until 3 June.

Victor Ince, of Lightfoot West, appeared in court on Wednesday, where Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel set the new date. Prosecutors have been given until 15 April to provide the defence with the case file.

Mr Ince faces two charges: forcibly seizing and confining 19-year-old Joyleen Abraham, and unlawfully causing her death.

Ms Abraham, a law student at the University of Guyana, had travelled to Antigua to visit a friend. She was found unresponsive on 7 May 2025 along a by-road linking New Winthorpes Village to the Jabberwock main road, in the Judges Estate area.
