The government has encouraged citizens and residents to take part in the day of prayer, using it as an opportunity for reflection, unity, and the seeking of guidance for the nation’s future.

The event is part of a longstanding tradition in the country, where national days of prayer play a key role in bringing the community together in observance of spiritual and national well-being.

  1. Remember Mr. PM, Remember Mr. Governor General, prayer without works is dead.

    >Stop the lawless behavior in carnival activities – monitor the minors

    >Stop fueling the promotion of violence – artiste that come here with songs full of violence, ban them if they don’t adhere to the law

    >Follow through with the curfew for minors, make it a bit more strict, suggestion (8pm to 6am)

    >Whatever you can do to help the youths, just do it.

Remember, prayers alone is futile, useless, in vain. we have to live out what we profess, we can fool man but not the Almighty God.

    Matt 15:8-9
“8 These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

  2. Is that the same for schools? Remember not everyone is as bright as you. Please be more specific. People have to arrange transportation for the children and announcing this after the fact puts significant strain of trying to organize and ensuring your children are off the streets!

  3. For.the hotel workers tell management to.send all the guests back to their country of orgin.and yall.just take the half day.

  4. I do believe if you read through it said: To mark the occasion, the day has been declared a half-public holiday throughout the nation.

  5. @ Just here for the comments, you best go bury clean your arse cause like your head up your kaka hole.
Now you tell me, if you send home all the guests to their country of origin, does that really make sense to you, does it?
Now clearly you’re just another logically imbedded super idiot of the soil, get about cleaning that arse of yours.

  6. Will the government pay the private sector employees out of the treasury?
Will liquor stores, whorehouses, drug dens be closed?
Will #obeah shops be closed or open?
Private companies should not pay their employees for such “time offs.”
One’s #fate is not determined, by such #faiths. If this was the case, poverty would not exist, crimes would all be solved by Colombo, Perry Mason and Sherlock Holmes, Antigua, Barbuda & REDONDA would’ve already won 100 gold medals at the Winter Olympics, 500 at the Summer Olympics.

  7. 🙏Thank you for this opportunity that the nation so badly needs at this time in point. Let us individually and/or collectively take a moment to reflect and then to pray, to have a simple conversation with our higher power, our God or namely worship being; manifesting peace, light, uplifting, love, cooperation and coordination with all citizens of this our nation; for becoming a productive wellbeing country for which we were created in the first place. A place where our children, our youths, mothers and fathers, the elderly, the sick, the rich and the poor and all people, at all levels, can find solace and goodness and all necessary conditions to carry out our daily life and responsibility as decent, joyful, blessed human beings, our government entities included. We are indeed grateful for this opportunity to reach up to the Almighty as a united nation that seeks today for Peace, Enlightenment, Guidance, Protection, Elimination of Darkness and Damage at all levels, Opportunities for good governance and for all the people to strive and live according to your Will. Amen 🙏 Even at this short notice we call upon all RESPONSIBLE FOR CHURCHES OF ALL DENOMINATIONS to join forces and make this day and half day more meaningful by organizing a special service or an hour prayer service with all your patrons. It will make a difference and create awareness. Thank you. TODAY AND ON SEPTEMBER 12th, 2024 WE PRAY: 🙏“ALMIGHTY GOD, PROTECT AND BLESS ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA.” WE ARE GRATEFUL TO YOU. AMEN 🙏

  8. After the half-day public holiday of prayers and fasting, Gaston will have his one-nation concert with artists singing all the devilish songs polluting the country again calling back Satan’s demons.

  9. Once you cast demons out of Antigua and Barbuda, and we do not fill the empty space with the things of God, those demons will come back seven times more potent than when they first left. The One Nation concert will open that avenue for the demons to return.

  10. Half day if prayer! Then tomorrow, people are back to cussing one another. Leaders back at shortchanging the populace, preventing people with opposing views from earning a living in their own land. Another underaged girl will be abused by the very ones advocating for prayer. Church and their leaders would be silent to society’s ills, for fear of losing duty free concessions. Law enforcement will let certain prosecutions ‘disappear’. People will continue on this very thread, denigrating their own Antiguan people. And the list is endless. Instead of a half day if prayer, why not come forward if you know who committed the last three murders? Why not turn in your son, brother, nephew, man, if you know that he was involved in one if the many robberies, rapes, theft, break-ins? Instead of a half day if prayer, why not ensure that people who are owed monies for services rendered, be paid? Instead of a half day of prayer, why not begin to prosecute those big hard back men, who keep molesting our young girls? Why don’t mothers stop turning a blind eye to that, instead of collecting the ‘benefits”? Why not refrain, black women, from your carnal display on the streets? Take a page out of other ethnicities, some who are not even followers of this religion. And by the way, who is responsible for the welfare of our black people, working in those Syrian and Chinese stores, who are replaced every three weeks? Who in authority is responsible for checking to see if their dues are paid and if they get their benefits? So many things are wrong in a society with over 90 percent of black people? Right those wrongs, only then will prayer work.
