Family Seeks Second Autopsy After Guyana Police Confirm Drowning in Death of 11-Year-Old Adriana Younge
The Guyana Police Force has confirmed that 11-year-old Adriana Younge died from drowning, according to the final post-mortem report conducted by three international pathologists.
Police stated that the examination found no signs of foul play. However, the circumstances of the incident have sparked concern in the community and among Younge’s family, who remain unconvinced by the initial findings.
Adriana was found unresponsive in the swimming pool of the Double Day International Hotel on 24 April 2025. Pathologists concluded she likely sank to the bottom of the pool and later resurfaced due to natural decomposition—an occurrence not uncommon in tropical climates.
Despite the official ruling, her family continues to question the circumstances surrounding her death. Her body was flown to the United States on Monday for an independent autopsy.
“We just want to understand what truly happened that day,” a family representative said.
As investigations continue, the tragedy has renewed calls for stricter safety protocols at public swimming facilities. Authorities say they are committed to supporting the family’s efforts to seek clarity and closure.

So, three pathologist. Dr Rudner of the Mount Sina hospital in NY, Dr Collins, born in TNT now CME for the US state of Delaware, and Dr. Kara Paul of Barbados.
One of those was requested by the family. The family also requested and got Dr. Caleb Mc Cloggan an endocrinologist to be present. The result. Death by drowning.
And yet we are not satisfied. Are the four well learnt persons wrong, or are they all covering up for the possible killers. Which one.
So now the body has been or will be sent to the US.
Death by drowning. Not by accidental drowning, nor by force drowning. Nothing has been rulled out.
Body fluids is still being tested to see if she was drugged or tranquilizer. I will assume that they are also testing the water found in her lungs to compare with the water in the pool to confirm or rulled out if she drowned in pool.
Second autopsy in US is waste of time and money in my opinion.
All these talk about cotton in nose or ears proven to be false
Maybe she was killed. Most likely she was killed. But the two facts so far is that she died and she died by drowning.
