Investigators are probing the death of a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) captain who died in a shooting incident at North Ruimveldt, Georgetown on Wednesday night.
Dead is Rondel Douglas.
The News Room understands that the incident occurred sometime around 23:00 hrs at Cul de Sac, Street.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are sketchy. However, the News Room understands that there was a scuffle between Douglas and his attacker/s, during which he was shot about two times.
It is believed that Douglas was a victim of a robbery but it is unclear at this time whether any valuables were stolen from him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
