St. Paul Member of Parliament EP Chet Greene has created an opportunity for his constituents to get involved in the business of mask making.
Greene told constituents “as we continue to adjust to the new realities and demands of life, I have made arrangements for training in and production of masks for interested constituents.”

The classes and manufacturing unit will be located at the constituency office in English Harbour and will commence on Monday 10th August, 2020. The program will train 20 persons in the first instance.
“Through this new community based initiative, the participants will learn a new skill while the project is intended to make our community self-sufficient in the supply of masks which is an absolute essential (service) during this period of COVID-19,” Greene said.
He said, “Minus the cost of fabric, all proceeds will be shared by the trainees.”
Interested individuals can register now by calling Mr. Lance Bromfield at 783-1888. The first 20 applicants will be accepted to start the program. A second round of training will be considered based on demand.

This is really a great initiative initiated by Mr. Greene for his constituents.Other constituencies should do likewise.
As we are now surviving in a new norm where jobs are now limited, the govt can perhaps give concessions on sewing machines.
It will create an incentive to persons to become self reliant and enable them to extend their spending power
I am wondering how the water delivery system going in St. Paul’s. This politician announce trucks will be delivering water to his constituence because APUA can’t supply. “What a joke” Now is MASK making, hope is not the government sewing machines they using.
