Greenbay Primary Celebrates 76 Years, Honours outstanding staff members, Oliver Joseph and Bonnie Prince

On Monday, October 6, 2025, Greenbay Primary School proudly celebrated its 76th anniversary marking more than seven decades of nurturing young minds and shaping futures at its current location.

The milestone was commemorated with a special service attended by the principal (Ag.), Clairopatra Henry, members of staff, students, parents, and several distinguished guests, including Mr. Clare Browne Esquire, Director of Education, Mr. Rolston Nickeo, Education Officer for Zone 1, Senator Michael Joseph, Government Senator and Minister of State,  The Honourable Richard Lewis, Parliamentary Representative for St. Johns Rural West,  Reverend Joseph E. Nicholas, Pastor of the Greenbay Moravian Church and Ms. Taryn Nicholas, a proud past student of Greenbay Primary School.

As part of the celebration, two outstanding members of staff  Mr. Oliver Joseph and Ms. Bonnie Prince were specially honoured for their dedicated service  to the school community.

Mr. Oliver Joseph, an experienced and passionate Mathematics teacher, has devoted over 35 years to educating students at the Greenbay Primary School. He is known for his patience, creativity, and deep commitment to student success. Mr. Joseph has inspired generations of learners to develop both confidence and a love for mathematics. Outside of teaching, Mr. Joseph enjoys solving mathematical problems, exploring new sports, playing the steelpan, and hiking. 

Also recognized for her invaluable contributions was Ms. Bonnie Prince, the school’s secretary for more than 30 years. Ms. Prince is celebrated for her professionalism, warmth, and steadfast commitment to excellence. Her kindness, patience, strong persona, and ever-present smile have earned her the admiration and respect of students, staff, and the wider Greenbay community.

Together, Mr. Joseph and Ms. Prince exemplify the school’s motto, *“Only the best is good enough.”*

The anniversary celebration concluded with the inauguration of the new Student Council Executive, a highlight that underscored Greenbay Primary’s continued commitment to student leadership and empowerment. The newly elected executive members are:

Their inauguration marked a proud moment for the school community, as the new leaders pledged to uphold Greenbay Primary’s values of excellence, responsibility, and service.
