The Ministry of Works has paid tribute to 16 former employees who served a combined 416 years working at the government department.
“You guys have done a great job that you should be proud of. You were the ones who made the ministry of works great,” Superintent of Works Curtis Adams told a dinner in their honour at Touloulou Restaurant last night.
The retirees are Evelyn Nicholas, Normas Murray, Vere Joseph, Rupert Davis, Walter Smith, Lionel Gordon, Alison Roberts, Doria Lewis, Hazel Browne, Vedan Browne, Julious Gore, Dinna Mae Francis, Marian Destin, Gore Anthony, Avril Ambrose and Clemmore.
Works Minister Eustace Teco Lake told them former workers to “enjoy your retirement” as he called their nam on by one recognising them for their service to country.
“I hope that you have made plans for your retirement that will make you truly happy,” the minister added.
Avril Ambrose, the longest serving employee with a total of 41 years service thanked the government on behalf of the former employees.
