Gov’t Optimistic About Alfa Nero Superyacht Sale as Ex-Google CEO Schmidt Stays Patient

5

Despite legal challenges over ownership of the Alfa Nero superyacht, the government remains optimistic about its eventual sale, confirms the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt won the auction for the yacht with $67.6 million after the government took control when it was abandoned.

Legal battles initiated by alleged yacht owners have delayed the sale.

The government asserts that these lawsuits are delaying tactics and that Schmidt’s interest in acquiring the vessel remains strong.

Concerns arise over the yacht’s safety during the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season as legal issues persist.

  1. Schmidt go look for another used steal of a deal superyacht elsewhere cause u aint getting that one…The Russian owner is gonna reimburse the government for the fees and leave with their boat…..

    • And how far will they go, because the minute the ship is no longer owned by the government of Antigua and Barbuda the USA will sanction it again and the US Coastguard will be waiting for it right here in international waters.

      • Who cares…It’s a headache we need to be rid of..I don’t think the government is gonna win against the owners…The USA and Russia been at each other’s throats for decades let them thrash it out…

      • Plus if I was Schmidt I wouldn’t want anything to do with that yacht because these Russian millionaires tend to have dangerous connections.
