His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, today welcomed Ambassadors, Resident Commissioners, Honorary Consuls, and representatives of the diplomatic and consular community to a special seminar on Residency and Citizenship hosted at Government House.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Immigration to provide clarity on the processes and requirements for residency, permanent residence, and citizenship in Antigua and Barbuda. The seminar included a comprehensive presentation by Chief Immigration Officer Ms. KatrinaYearwood and her team, who outlined eligibility criteria, fees, and the documentation required for applications.
In his welcome remarks, the Governor General emphasized the importance of equipping members of the diplomatic corps with accurate information so they may serve as effective bridges between their nationals and the institutions of Antigua and Barbuda. He extended thanks to the Honourable Attorney General and Minister of Immigration, Sir Steadroy Benjamin, for facilitating the initiative, and praised the Department of Immigration for its diligent work in preparing user-friendly resources, including a new immigration brochure.

Among those in attendance were Ambassadors from China, the Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom, and Cuba, as well as Resident Commissioners, Honorary Consuls, and community representatives. The Chief Protocol Officer was also present to support the proceedings.
The seminar was followed by an opportunity for discussion and engagement, enabling participants to raise questions and share feedback on the immigration framework. The Chief Immigration Officer will continue to collaborate with members of the diplomatic corps to facilitate community focused engagements with various stakeholders.
