Employees from three government agencies were sent home today after being locked out of their workplace, a government-rented building owned by the Ryan Group of Companies.
The access denial results from the government’s unpaid rent of over $8 million. He emphasized that while they are not evicting tenants, discussions with officials have been unsuccessful, and a meeting is needed to determine the way forward.
The facility houses the Bureau of Standards, the Ministry of Works Project Implementation Unit, and various Survey Departments.

This is laughable if it wasn’t so serious. That is why I keep stressing government’s need to be fiscal prudent and responsible such that they can meet their obligations just like a private household or a business. I find it irresponsible that government can owe Mr Rysn over $8 million in outstanding rent but waste $1.5 million on One Nation Concert. Fiscally irresponsible!
To owe someone 8 million in rent, especially when the building looks like that would have to mean that you did not pay rent for many many years. Pay up world boss. your rent is overdue!

If this is true, why did Ryan allowed the rent to reach to that amount and not echo their voices earlier. This is the problem with many Landlords. They allow their tenancy to get out of hand and then have challenges to get it back under control

How come you not saying that Mr Ryan is lying?
Shameful Government is always in the news like criminals who are committing or have committed crimes.
There was a time that the government use to all people they own to do an exchange. So what would happen is that In the case of Mr.Ryan he would go to the treasury and they would make a payment for the duty or take. Let us say duty. The treasury will make out the check to Mr.Ryan company and the comptroller of customs. Mr. Ryan will endorse the check and that will pay for his lumber of whatever.
The government has stopped trading off for various reasons. They now collect from the landlords, their suppliers and service providers, duty , taxes etc but generally speaking no trade offs.
So every month Mr.Ryan and other contractors have to pay in to inland revenue, weekly to the comptroller of customs, yo the statuary bodies and he cannot collect from government. They fail to negotiate and even disrespect the poor contractors, that are not as independent as Mr.Ryan to pull the plugs. Dam if they do and dam if they do not. Victimized if they make public statements and keep quiet they don’t get paid.
Well done Ryan Group of Companies. Throw their arses out of your buildings. This Government like to trust and no pay.
