I’m glad that this article is here. I’ve been complaining about it for some time now.
It’s a lack of civic pride!
We’re ALWAYS complaining about this lacking in Antigua, or not being up kept. Here we have the PUBLIC bus sheds erected, and placed for all the use, and you have some stupid jackass just going and breaking out the glass.
I was most disappointed in what I was seeing. I’m hoping the the person(s) who were responsible are caught, and dealt with severely
I agree with you 100%. They complain the government not doing anything, but they fail as a community to care for the little that they have.
@JUSTICE. True the people that do this are jackasses. They are the same jackasses that throw their Kentucky boxes anywhere and litter the beach. Surely they lack civic pride but, they are in the majority and the ones who mindlessly keep ABLP in power. So they love them and will do very little to make them a more conscious bunch because doing so will mean the end of ABLP.
Curse if you want but it is true. All of this is the result of what ABLP has turned this country into.
The guys cutting the side of the road with weed wackers are to blame for some of the broken glass on these bus sheds. I have seen this happen to the shed on airport road where the weed Wacker hits loose stones and sends them flying into the bus shed breaking the glass.
So much Regular people Government is owing and will not pay.Backpay, Social Security, work done, ect.what you don’t spend on the just, you will spend on the unjust..I however don’t condone destroying Government property..Frustration brings the ugly out of people.
Deuce trust me it’s not dem since the road was open look how long there was a (Crazy) woman that broke all of them on FRIAS Hill road I Seen her More Than 1,2 even 3 occasions taking rocks and breaking each and every one of those glasses out we have to be careful when we point blames unless we have evidence or we see them with our own eyes I don’t want to get in trouble cuz I know she’s mental and used to go to school with her back in the day people say this and I sure am not the only person that sees this she does it in broad daylight I know matter what you say she still does it so the best thing to do when you see a crazy person is to leave them alone the government has to step in and deal with this situation… It took too long for them to notice serious things in this Country we call Home (Antigua)…
I beg to differ from the previous comments and the article on the issue of broken glass at the Bus Shelters. These glass were not created for these hot tropical climate. They cannot withstand the elements of the weather, that is the scorching heat in the day and the cold due at nights. The sudden mixture of both these temperatures will cause the glass to disintegrate naturally. I have seen this happen at the Airport where partition glass in the passenger queue lines and the immigration booths have just on their own shatter and disintegrate. This is because of the very cold air conditioning system there and when the air condition is down causing an unbearable heat which results in the glass to break naturally.
Maybe they need to replace the glass with reinforce plastic that will not crack instead of glass, because will continue to deface those bus stops. It’s a true shame how people can destroy the image of their own country, smh.
This is the same concept when you place a cold china plate or glass straight out of the refridgerator into a microwave oven will certainly cause it to crack or break.
In the first place, who was the jackass who decided that glass was a good material to use in this situation? Acrylic would have been a more suitable option!
Then again who am I , only foreign companies and foreigners know how to do anything in Antigua.
Having read some of the other posts it is quite possible that the elements are to blame but I have seen where they have been been destroy by cars that run into them and obvious signs of maliciousness.
