The government says families who already paid CXC examination fees for June 2026 will receive full refunds, following last week’s announcement that the state will cover all CXC costs beginning in the 2026 academic year.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne first shared the update on social media, and Education Minister Daryll Matthew confirmed it in Parliament during the Budget debate. He said the refund process is set to begin next week, with payments sent directly to schools.
“For every parent and student who already settled their CXC bill, the Ministry has instructed that the money be returned,” Matthew said, adding that schools keep accurate fee records based on each student’s subject load. He said refunds are expected before Christmas.

I’m glad they’re not leaving early payers behind. Some parents sacrificed to pay early, and they deserve every cent back.
Now THIS is how you ease the pressure on families. Education is expensive, so getting that refund before Christmas is a blessing.
Election is around the corner hehehehe
