Government to Modernize Transportation with New Buses and Infrastructure Upgrades
The government will purchase six new school buses in 2025 to replace aging units in service for 18 years, according to Transport Minister Charles Fernandez.
This follows the acquisition of four buses earlier this year, underscoring efforts to improve student transportation.
Plans include expanding road traffic markings for better safety, upgrading East and West Bus Stations with new restrooms, security cameras, and additional office space, and addressing traffic congestion through paid parking meters in collaboration with NAMCO.
Enhancements to driver’s license and vehicle licensing software are also expected to streamline services in the coming year.
