Government taking steps to make it possible for Antiguans to buy land in Barbuda

CABINET NOTES:

The Cabinet held a discussion on a further amendment to the Barbuda Land (Amendment) Act (2018).

Members were persuaded by a paper emanating from the Ministry of Legal Affairs that the provision limiting the purchase of land in Barbuda to a category of citizens called “Barbudans” is unconstitutional.

That portion of the 2018 law will be repealed and that portion of the law addressing the sale of land in Antigua and Barbuda will make reference to “Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda”.

Wow wow wow wow PM Brown Sir why we do not respect the sister island land policy for goodness sake We can go to the island and lease Land our policy in Antigua we sell lands respect that time will tell you are going to jail you are doing what ever you can to satisfied the Red Necks in Barbuda I’m hoping that the people will rise and do what ever it takes to defend their rights. Imagine that an important meeting of the Heads of the Caribbean Prime Ministers and you cannot find time to attend an important security conference.   2. This is another ALP land grab. Barbudans must resist this at all cost or the ALP will thief the land and flood Barbuda with foreign hungry bellies.

    Barbudans, this has been a long time coming so you should be prepared for the land grab to come. Our rulers have disposed of much of the land in Antigua so where next? Barbuda of course. Sorry folks, it’s now your turn to view another golf course in the name of progress or is it development? Take your pick. Either way your goose is cooked. All the best!

  5. Barbudans should challenge the legitimacy of the labour government in court and their ability to repeal the 2018 land amendment act. Gaston admitted to stealing the election. Their party has no legitimacy and should not be passing any laws.

  6. It is possible? Those Barbudans will make that impossible. Imagine buying land that you can’t enter.
