Government House Vandalized

A historic landmark in Antigua and Barbuda has been restored after vandals spray-painted the perimeter wall of Government House during Carnival celebrations.

The building, which is undergoing major restoration, was defaced during a parade, prompting widespread outrage.

Within days, members of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force, volunteers and donors repainted the wall. Governor-General Sir Rodney Williams also contributed to the repair efforts.

Officials have warned that anyone caught vandalising the property will face prosecution.

“This is not just a wall — it’s a piece of our identity,” one volunteer said.

  1. I agree the wall has historical and cultural value. But why are we still not outraged about all the missing persons in Antigua as we are about this wall?

Why are we not outraged about the gun violence and robberies as we are about how government house wall looks?

I think human life is most important. Let’s get more outraged about crime in Antigua please.
