The Minister of Education, the Honourable Daryll Mathew, has directed senior officials within the Ministry of Education to engage directly with the management of St. Andrews School in response to the recently announced closure of the institution.
Minister Mathew has also held preliminary discussions with Prime Minister Gaston Browne to assess the implications of the closure on students, faculty, and the broader educational landscape, as well as explore proactive solutions.
Minister Mathew emphasized the government’s firm commitment to protecting the interests of all affected stakeholders.
“We recognize the deep disruption this development may cause for students, parents, and educators alike.
As a Government, we are determined to pursue every viable avenue to ensure that no child is left behind and that every teacher is supported during this transition,” he stated.
Minister Mathew added, “Our aim is to maintain continuity in education and preserve the learning environment for the students currently enrolled at St. Andrews.
If the conditions allow, one option could be integrating the facility, students, and teachers into the public school system.
Of course, this would be subject to the willingness of the school’s current owners to sell, and the successful completion of the necessary due diligence by government authorities.”
The Ministry will provide further updates as discussions progress and concrete decisions are made.
The Minister of Education is currently overseas on official government business and remains actively engaged in efforts to address the situation.

@straightshooter ignorance runs through your veins…dum ass!
The safety of the children must always come first—no question.
Is like every term now a school closing down. What’s really going on?
Dis school been needing repairs a long time now—why wait till it collapse?
I observe that you never post my comments, why?
I believe the parents would prefer to keep their kids in a private school knowing the short coming gs of the public school system. Perhaps teachers may be willing to make that move.
