The Cabinet has ordered EC$500,000 to be transferred to the National Housing for their continued management of the HAPI programme.

The objective is to ensure that the time between the tragedy suffered by indigent home-owners and the provision of the new home, is greatly shortened.

Many of the supplies to build new homes are freely given by hardware stores, lumberyards, and cement providers to construct these homes.

The suppliers are usually moved by the situation of the indigent families and give generously.

  1. Is Gaston Browne holding an ABS microphone?🎤 Do my eyes 👀 deceive me?

So I was always correct about ABS being the government’s mouthpiece; but I didn’t realise that the Prime Minister also had access to his own ABS microphone as well?

AH WHAT AH GWARNE YAH SO?

Where’s the media and political balance in this country?

Well done for your balance and impartiality ANR 👏🏾

    • Brixtonian,
I agree with your comments above. A newspaper story was published yesterday about complaints from citizens over the tax increase. There were several public comments after the story. Today I see the same story, but the comments from the public are gone. Are we seeing a creep against freedom of the press and takeover by the government?

      • @ Michael Scott,

The government are doing this because they recognise that independent and critical thinking Antiguans are waking up to mess and mismanagement of the country, and commenting and expressing how they feel about ABLP’S handling of our economy and citizens, who are now worse off than ever before.

        ECONOMIC POWERHOUSE MY BACKFOOT!

  2. I like this HAPI initiative. They could also help elderly people renovate old homes etc. Just a thought.
