Emre Sayin, CEO, Global Ports Holding told Seatrade, ‘We wanted to get our partners in the Caribbean together and celebrate that we are back – and investments and preparations and getting ready for the future, for us, never stopped.
‘And… also, give people a little bit more hope and understanding of what the end of this year and next year will look like.’
Antigua
A fifth berth, security building, area for buses and a connection bridge to Heritage Quay Shopping Centre are aimed at transforming Antigua into a turnaround destination for cruise ships.
Safety and security upgrades are planned for Heritage Quay in the near future, alongside passenger experience enhancements to further reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread.
Nassau
Expansion of the piers, set to conclude at the end of this year, will ensure three Oasis-class vessels can be accommodated at the port simultaneously; Royal Caribbean and Crystal Cruises have used Nassau for homeporting for the first time this year.
Bahamians are invited to invest in Nassau’s port project through Bahamas Investment Fund when GPH launches its equity raise this month.
