The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 14 heads of state and one vice president have confirmed their attendance at the swearing-in ceremony for President Luis Abinader and Vice President Raquel Peña for the 2024-2028 term.
Confirmed attendees include King Felipe VI of Spain; Presidents Xiomara Castro of Honduras, Rodrigo Chaves of Costa Rica, Daniel Noboa of Ecuador, Santiago Peña of Paraguay, José Raúl Mulino of Panama, Bernardo Arévalo of Guatemala, Chandrikapersad Santokhi of Suriname, General Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau, Mohamed Irfaan Ali of Guyana, Gustavo Petro of Colombia, and Luis Lacalle Pou of Uruguay.
Also confirmed are Governor General Rodney Williams of Antigua and Barbuda, Belize Prime Minister John Briceño, and El Salvador Vice President Félix Ulloa.
The Ministry expects additional leaders, international organization heads, and special guests to confirm their attendance as the August 16 date approaches.
