A still-unnamed woman became the country’s latest road fatality after she was struck by a vehicle on the Friars Hill Road on Sunday morning, September 4.

While walking on the road at about 3:20 a.m., reports say, the woman was struck by the vehicle, which was traveling from south to north.

The Police reportedly are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and, up to Sunday night, had not publicly identified the victim.

She is the second pedestrian to have lost her life on the Friars Hill Road this year, 2022.

Meanwhile, family members of an elderly Yorks woman are reporting that she disappeared from her home on Saturday night, September 3, and they have been searching for her since.

The 85-year-old woman, who goes by the moniker “Dolly,” reportedly suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and lives alone.

Relatives are concerned that the accident victim could be the missing woman. They are reportedly expected to go to the funeral home today, September 5, to see if a positive identification can be made.

Additionally, the search also continues for 26-year-old Kevorn “Sardis” Bailey, who has been missing for a week now.

Bailey was last seen on Monday, August 29, in the vicinity of the Everyday Service Station, near the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters on Independence Drive.

He is described as dark in complexion, of medium build, and approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the nearest police station, or his father, Gregory Bailey, the Director of Agriculture.

  1. How one gonna know the missing male, just look on any male and assume he’s 26 or his name is Bailey?
Need more details or an imagery to identify this person by.

  2. Not surprised that you’ve made that observation. These news journalists are lacking.
Missing persons should be published with a photo. Period.

Missing persons should be published with a photo. Period. Who is editing these articles?

  4. No 85 yr old woman with Alzheimer’s disease should live alone. She could easily have forgotten to turn off the stove.

    • Thank you. I’m not saying the driver was right, maybe he was speeding but maybe he wasn’t. having cared for an elderly lady with Alzheimer’s I turned my back to make a cup of tea and then found her on her way out the house opening the gate. No elderly person with Alzheimer’s or dementia should be left alone, ever. That was an avoidable tragedy. She could have stepped out in the road totally unaware of the car or her surroundings and now this person who hit her gets the blame. Come on families, take responsibility for your elderly. And the fact no lights on friars hill road after all that money spent on it is just plain ridiculous.
