Francis Stars Again as Leewards Beat Guyana
Antigua and Barbuda’s Tanez Francis continued his superb form with 74 from 99 balls to lead the Leeward Islands Under-17s to a DLS victory over Guyana in the West Indies Rising Stars Under-17 Men’s 50-Over Championship on Thursday.
The Leewards captain, who struck 110 against Jamaica a day earlier, hit seven fours and two sixes as his side posted 227 for six. Amoree Jones added 52 and Hosea Roberts made an unbeaten 34.
Guyana faltered in reply, dismissed for 163 in 36.5 overs. Jathan Edwards claimed three for 33 and Kunal Tilokani two for 32, while Parmeshwar Ram top-scored with 35 for the visitors.
Elsewhere, Trinidad and Tobago beat Jamaica by 91 runs under DLS, and Barbados thrashed Windward Islands by 107 runs.
Barbados lead the table with 35.2 points, just ahead of the Leewards on 32.4.
