Four young people are receiving medical treatment after being shot during a late-night incident near Joe Mike’s, in the area between Corn Alley and Nevis Street.
Preliminary reports indicate the victims, believed to be between 16 and 20 years old, were walking in the area when a lone gunman or individuals from another group opened fire, striking all four.
The victims sustained gunshot wounds to various parts of their bodies, including the hand, side and leg.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the injured to hospital. Their conditions are reported to be stable.
Police have not yet issued an official statement. Investigations into the shooting are ongoing, and further details are expected as authorities continue their inquiries.

A community is its leader.
If the leader encourages criminal activity the community becomes lawless.
If the leader is rolesolute on his stance against criminal activity the community will be and feel safer.
The youths with the guns are the very youths involved in smoking.
Just for a vote the cabinet has decided that there should be no further arrest for public smoking and the laws will be reviewed after the elections.

Your government claims that the United Progressive Party cannot manage this nation, citing the rise in crime—but what we see is a deeper failure of leadership.
The investment program has been a double-edged sword—enriching a few by selling passports, while crime infiltrates our streets. Just the other day, a man was caught with a gun and a silencer after an amnesty meant to disarm the public—and he was given just three years, later reduced to one and a half. This is a grave insult to public safety. And just two weeks ago, we lost two young lives—taken too soon—and last night, four more were shot. Despite all this, there have never been proper gun raids—only drug busts. Who is bringing these guns in? Who is supplying our youth with such deadly tools?
We are watching a government that, rather than addressing this crisis, calls a snap election to stave off the inevitable. They know, in just a few months, the situation will spiral beyond control. As I’ve said before, our cricket fields are denied to young people, controlled by a select few. They have no outlets, no safe spaces to grow. We don’t need just words; we need action. We need a change in government, a change in the violence, and a future that puts people first.
So, I say to you, Prime Minister—make Antigua great again. Enough is enough. We need a government that stands with the people, not one that exploits them. The time for change is now.

The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police and government solve crimes.
Wait! Why don’t those angry youths convert that energy into something more effect that will help them develop, like channeling that anger at the politicians that make their lives miserable, yes you can knock off the politicians with your vote and protest, that’s right you don’t need to be shooting up each other, just take out the politicians who have been fooling you with one weapon greater than guns, and that’s your vote and protest and participation in social media to speak out as young people and coalesce around a single ideology, and that’s the development of your country by young people themselves and not no foreign white savior complex and ministers getting rich while you stay poor and miserable smoking the spliff that Gaston institutionalized on you instead of giving you land resources and concessional opportunities. Because the Government of the day should do all in its power to stop the guns from entering the country, to be fair they cannot eliminate it 100% but they are not doing a very good job and when found with a unlicensed one the penalty should be severe
