The Ministry of Agriculture is always proud to see young people carrying forward the lessons learned through its programmes. One such success story is that of Mr. Koden Adams, a past participant in the Ministry’s Summer Internship Programme, who has remained deeply engaged in agriculture even as he pursues his studies.

Koden, who is currently a student at the Antigua State College studying Engineering Electrical, was recently presented with a Bee Suit and Starter Kit, generously donated by Miss Elise Phillip, who facilitated a session on agro-processing during the internship. Though her involvement was brief, Miss Phillip was inspired by the enthusiasm of the young participants. This thoughtful contribution will allow Koden to further explore his interest in apiculture, a field that plays a vital role in food security and environmental sustainability.

The Ministry commends both Koden for his commitment and Miss Phillip for her generosity. Stories like these highlight how impactful mentorship and practical experiences can be in nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders.

As Antigua and Barbuda faces the challenges of climate change and food security, the Ministry continues to encourage more young people to take an active role in agriculture, whether through crop production, livestock, or apiculture. With passion, support, and the right resources, the youth can transform agriculture into a thriving, innovative, and sustainable sector.

The Ministry of Agriculture congratulates Koden Adams and extends sincere appreciation to Miss Elise Phillip. Their example is a reminder that agriculture is not just about farming, it is about networking, building resilience, fostering creativity, and securing the nation’s future.
