The English Harbour residence of former Governor-General Dame Louise Lake-Tack was broken into on Friday, 27 September.

Police say the intruders forced open a basement door and stole electrical wiring before entering the upper floor through an unlocked bedroom window.

The house was ransacked, and items including paint brushes, roller pads and dishwashing liquid were taken.

  1. Not to be left out of all the action………..I hope this is not the same electrical wire presented to lame-duck Lewis for use in his crime-infested constituency

  2. I’m surprised at the lack of security alarms, door sensors, motion and glass breakage detectors in use in Antigua. These days, many are cheap, can be installed and set up without the need of a professional and even if they are not connected to a monitoring service, can make one hell of a racket with a 100 decibel siren that will make the average thief leave the premises immediately and get the attention of the neighbors.

I’ve never heard of a thief breaking into someones home to steal dishwashing liquid before. Only in Antigua. Funny but sad.

  3. The police seem to be stepping up their game against the petty criminals and while they are at it, they need to show their unbiased stance and fo after those who are stealing from our treasury. In many instances, they have credible evidence of grand theft and choose to follow instructions instead of abiding by the law. The horrible land swap between swamp lands at Dredge Bay and lands that were owned by WIOC in an affluent area at Friars Hill should be fully investigated even if it takes our last dollar. These high-power criminals hurt us greater than any petty thief can.

  4. The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police and government solve crimes.

  5. This sounds wilfully orchestrated and rehearsed just to make news. Aryou just gimme one break see! At her age and as a former GG she nah hab none cameras?

  6. More robbery again, these people have no respect for others belonging we need to take safee measures to guard our homes

  7. @Eldread people go just steal the batteries out the street lights AGAIN…. “Solar” wah nonsense? They done have ASC completely lit 24/7 using APC electricity APUA buy from Hadeed power company?
