Raunchy music video by former child-star ‘Jamal Gordon’ has everyone talking

Jamal Gordon is no stranger to the stage. The 20-year-old Antiguan recording artiste first stepped into the music industry with his hit single ‘Too Young’ and EP: ‘Tomorrow’ back in 2012. He also holds the title of ‘Mr. Teen Splash 2016’. Following a 6-year hiatus from music, Jamal Gordon returns with a sensual R&B/dancehall single – Shameless.

‘Shameless’ tells a story of a female who is entrapped within a toxic relationship and becomes shameless to escape its shackles. “Its actually based on a true story” the artiste claims, “I’m not accustomed to seeing tears fall in the bedroom so when this happened, I knew I had to put it in a song”.

“So far the reviews have generally been good” Jamal states. “I think persons especially love the video because they’ve never seen anything like this come out of Antigua”. The music video was written and directed by the artiste himself, and within 24 hours following its release on YouTube has amassed nearly 2000 views. “I wasn’t expecting such a huge debut” Jamal explains, “but ever since its release I have been seeing the video all over the media and for that I am eternally grateful – people make or break you”.

JC Yone, proprietor of Yone Media Productions, is responsible for the executive production and directing of photography for the video. While Antiguans Deshawn J. Browne, Micheal Thomas and Jamal Parillon aided with cinematography. All scenes were shot within Antigua.

Dr. Noel Howell, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Film Association expresses contentment with its production. “I would give this video a 9/10. The storyline and acting are quite powerful, and I am impressed that mere youths could come together to manifest such a vision.” Dr. Howell explains, “For our youth to be great, we must support them”.

Jamal claims that the platform for upcoming artistes within the country is lacking and that this proves a discouragement to most. “Same way, I want to be able to inspire others” he says, “if I can do it so can you – it’s just patience and hard work”. Jamal suggests that the only way to combat this dilemma is through unity. Collaborations with Ras Juba, DJ Quest, E-Kon, DJ Sheed and Niqko Wyld West Bossare all in the pipelines.

The artiste can be found on Twitter @JamalGordon268, and on Instagram & Facebook @JGordon268. ‘Shameless’ is available for streaming/download on all major platforms worldwide, and new music from Jamal Gordon is expected August 1st.
