
ABEC extends condolences on the passing of former Commissioner Winston
The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) expresses its profound sadness at the passing of Mr. Winston Gomes, a former Commissioner who served the organization with distinction and integrity, from 2002 – 2009.
Mr. Gomes was among the first of five members to be appointed to the Commission during a pivotal period in the nation’s electoral development. His contributions to the work of the Commission were marked by professionalism, sound judgment, and a deep sense of public duty.
Mr. Gomes’ dedication to ensuring that the electoral process remained credible and impartial earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider community.
