Forensic Officer Testifies as Defence Challenges Police Procedures in Nigel Christian Murder Trial

7

The jury in the Nigel Christian murder trial on Monday heard testimony from a forensic officer who documented the crime scene and related evidence following the July 10, 2020 abduction and killing of the senior Customs official.

Appearing via video link, the officer outlined photographs taken at the scene in Thibou’s, where Christian’s body was discovered, as well as images from his McKinnons home and other locations linked to the investigation. The court was told that items of evidential value were recovered at multiple sites, including Christian’s abandoned vehicle and surrounding areas.

Prosecutors allege that clothing, personal items and other materials found across several locations connect the three accused men to the crime. Among the items recovered were articles of clothing, gloves, and documents said to belong to the deceased.

The officer is expected to continue his testimony when the photographs themselves are shown to the jury.

The accused — Lasean Bully, Wayne Thomas and Saleim Harrigan — have pleaded not guilty.

During cross-examination, defence attorneys challenged aspects of the police investigation, raising concerns about arrest procedures, handling of seized items, and the extraction of security camera footage. A police sergeant acknowledged certain procedural oversights under questioning.

The trial continues before Justice Rajiv Persaud.

  1. Why would those men want t kill Nigel Christian??….Was he a shady character who was a high level Customs Officer by day and a gangster by night?? These men were sent on a turn his TV off mission by a higher power and it must come to light…..I believe the reason why they have pleaded not guilty is because this higher power has assured them they will walk free…..Let’s see how this goes…..

  2. Didn’t I tell everyone that the defence team would either go after the police or forensic team on how their procedures and/or evidence would be collated?

It is times like this that I dislike being right!!!

Going down the “technicality” rat 🐀 hole by the defence team reeks of sheer desperation.

They’ll be telling the jury next that the forensic team were wearing the wrong gloves, and the police were wearing the wrong type of footwear next…

I’m hoping that Nigel Christian’s family get the justice they thoroughly deserve 🙏🏾

  3. Mi dear, this murder is coming from a high place and why a customer officer would die he know and see things he wasn’t to see just as the other customer lady that they kill and didn’t the men them walk free, so pay attention people. The man and them need to talk and let the people know who’s the real killer that’s behind the scenes.

  4. There are some wicked people in high places in this country. Asot Michael had cameras all around yet, no video to show and, everybody say Amen. Why wasn’t the FBI called in? Why didn’t the FBI come for the other murders? I hope those men consciences prick them soon so, they’ll say who pay them to commit that heinous murder and others.
