GIS: FOREIGN MINISTER LEADS DELEGATION TO 77th of the OECS AUTHORITY

Antigua and Barbuda is taking part in the 77th Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, which opens TODAY, June 17 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs Minister Hon. E.P. Chet Greene is leading the delegation on behalf of Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne. He is accompanied by Senior Foreign Affairs Officer Kurt Williams.

The session is chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, who will welcome OECS Heads of Government, the Director General of the OECS, and parliamentary representatives from both government and opposition across member states.

A key highlight of the Assembly is the debate on proposed regional legislation under the Eastern Caribbean Economic Union regime, which was developed in collaboration with OECS Member States.

The meeting is held under the theme: “Strengthening Regional Unity in a Shifting Global Order.” The OECS Assembly serves as a regional parliament, featuring representatives from all OECS Member States and their associated legislatures.
