Delano Forbes

The Royal Police Force has launched an investigation into the circumstances that led to murder suspect Delano Forbes’ escape from five officers.

The probe is being led by the Professional Standards Unit of the the Force. The officers involved have already submitted their reports on the incident, a well placed source said.

The officers, two photographers and three of the Serious Crime Unit, had reportedly taken Forbes from Her Majesty’s Prison at about 11:30 am and took him to Swetes as part of an evidence gathering mission. Forbes, who was shackled at the time, managed to give his detail the slip sometime around 12:30 that afternoon, even though they reportedly chased after him.

At the end of the investigation, the Professional Standards Unit is expected to report to the commissioner of police and the unit also has the power to recommend disciplinary actions, if any, for the officers involved.

The murder suspect, who is still at large,  is accused of killing Wilfred ‘Bongo’ Williams, Shawn Henry and Lisue Williams. All three men were killed last year and the police said earlier they found jars of what appeared to be blood at Forbes’ home when they were investigating in December.

If you have any information that would help re-capture the prisoner Delano Forbes, please call the Homicide unit at 764-2348 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914.

  1. After seeing this guy in foot chains there’s no way no one can convince me that police was negligent in his escape. This guy is just demon poses and outright lucky in his escape. Why are we bashing the police? The only thing I’m upset about is that up to now there’s no official statement comforting the public up to now from officialdom of the force.

Give the damn police them a break however on another note officers please come to the public and let us know what’s going on as we speak in your efforts to recapture this monster. You all alone can’t do it. The public’s assistant is Paramount however we can’t play no part unless we are briefed with the requisite information.

    • U talking nonesense u just backing. The shit the police did if is one of yr family memember he kill i wonder what would u be doing now u just talking bullshit

  2. Ok so his dad said he’s poses and police say they found jars of what appear to be blood at his residence, my thing is why not test the substance to be sure it’s blood and whose blood (if it’s one of the 3 men own or maybe they are other victims). I just would like the police and the public to remember this is a tourism island so we need to stop putting info out there that may not be true.

    • exactly…up to know it is still “alleged” that the liquid found in the jars is blood? test the dam substance to see what it is and stop the dam crap, its either blood or it isn’t. and am sure its a simple and short process to find out what the substance is, but i guess it sounds more interesting to suggest that the guy is drinking blood. chups

      • Who say they didn’t test it ? It clearly states that it is blood . And no it’s not easy to point out exactly where the blood came from that will have to go through several different process . And the police did not say anything about drinking blood either. I think you pointing your fingers in the wrong direction. Who ever started the false allegations is who to blame. Instead of joining the culprits to blame tell them to stop spreading rumours and focus on ways to help solve crime . Those are the kinda post we should be seeing positive constructive post .

    • I was wondering myself if it’s Animals blood because all now we can’t hear if it’s humans. I agree with you SMH…..

  3. The officers, two photographers and three of the Serious Crime Unit, had reportedly taken Forbes from Her Majesty’s Prison at about 11:30 am and took him to Swetes as part of an evidence gathering mission. The question is now was his lawyer presents when this was going on was the lawyer inform about this move to take him to gather evidence. Because this look like a set up. Why would the police take him to sweetes to gather evidence after so much time has pass. Then the police could plant evidence at the property with out the lawyer or anyone of his family members presented. Like how their lie about where their pick him up fist. Can we trust the police force in Antigua.

      • LMAO @”the terrible grammar”

Guess his next target will be those who don’t use perfect grammar. Mercy me belly lol

      • And I suppose you don’t know your history on languages and grammar. So you just sit there uneducated about your history and advance English and want to be talking about going back to school. Grow up and stop the petty criticism.

    • Did you ever had a situation where the police couldn’t be trusted . If not please stop judging.
