Five foreign nationals are to be deported from Antigua this week after admitting to overstaying their time in the country.
A Trinidadian assistant nightclub manager and four Jamaican nationals pleaded guilty to immigration offences when they appeared before Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel.
The group — aged 28 to 39 — includes Cornelius Thomas, 39, a manager at the Boardroom nightclub on Nevis Street, along with independent contractor Marcel Parker, beauty worker Kizzy Johnson, carpenter Javon Keroy Watson and barber Luckicy Andra McDermott.
All five were issued with removal orders and are being held at the immigration detention facility until their departure later this week.

Only five??? Furthermore, why this concentration on ordinary Caricom nationals? What about our huge intake of “syrian” and Chinese peddlers most of whom can barely speak our language but are overnight owners and operators of the fast-food and tire outlets in Antigua! Oh what a country……!!
I guess is just jamaicans can get deported. No middle east ,no Phillipines and no Chinese.
Them only ave strength for our own black ppl chinese n Syrian n Phillipines ppl and them need to check out as well
In all fairness we always seem to concentrate on removing Caricom nations from our shores. There are Syrians, Lebanese, Philippines nationals, Santo Dominican nationals and other international citizens overstating and working in the country who always seem to get a pass. The targeting of only Caricom nationals always bothers me.
I’m not going to be xenophobic or disrespectful to the laws of our country…. Yes there are Syrians, Lebanese and Chinese and Philippines in our country… What we all have failed to realize is that these persons make sure their documents are in order and their representatives will go out of their way to ensure their smooth transition here… To many of our caricom brothers and sisters will not get their papers in order and when they’re deported we start complaining… When they over stay and Uncle Donald report them you don’t hear peek out of anyone!!! So please just respect the laws of your host country even if you don’t respect the laws of your own!!
That’s the ALP. Caribbean Nationals have no kickbacks to give; they have to stand in line at the immigration station for hours and are very often hunted and captured on job locations where other nationalities and ethnicities are not bothered. They only matter at election time when they accept handouts for votes. They have been threatened on the political platforms, increases and delays have been added to their work permits and to regularize their immigration status while those from worlds away are given the red carpet. He who will not hear will feel.
Please decrease the amount of migrants in the country, to protect the local culture. Also, go after all countries that are in Antigua unlawfully, with the exercising of discretion. How on earth a country as small as Antigua has a population of about 19,000 from a specific country, imagine how many Jamaicans are in Antigua, I am estimating about 30,000 or more. This is not healthy for the culture, the amount of foreigners can not be more than 50% of the local population, especially in a culture like Antigua where Antiguans only follow, they lead nothing, and only curse out each other. Local culture, norms, folkways need protection and I know this also will impact crime rates positively.
@my way of helping. Shut up Everson. You talk a lot of shit for an Antiguan who lives in America and makes a living helping immigrants there. What a hypocrite you are.
So they didn’t know to go and extend their stay. Only on Antigua
Navigating immigration is unclear. I just leave the country and come back later because the bureaucracy is so disorganized. But not everybody can afford to do that.
I don’t wish deportation on anybody, but if your time is up and you don’t renew your status, this is what happens. The law is the law and that is simple
Some of these folks really contribute to the place carpenters, barbers, contractors. Hope immigration can find a way to make the process easier.
UPP is rejoicing
Only in Antigua? You’ll so limited it’s scary. Where in the world you don’t have a breach of migration policy?
China and USA and Canada dont get dipped.

Never thought I would ever agree with something coming from Faithful National #1. Just 5, I would bet my last dollar if they had a mind to; they could find at least 50 times that. Start doing the damn work and clean up the country, these people are waiting around for the next amnesty
