ABS- Fire officers responded to a blaze in St John’s Friday afternoon, after black smoke was seen billowing from the back of a commercial center at the corner of St John’s and Popes Head Streets Friday afternoon.
ABS understands residents were startled by a loud explosion, followed by the scent of burning wires.
Fire officers quickly arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze. No one was injured.
Police investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire.
ABS News was told the blaze likely originated from a pile of appliances left exposed to the elements.
