FIREARM AND AMMUNITION SEIZED DURING POLICE OPERATION

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Sunday, June 8, 2025

The police have seized an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition during an early morning operation at Bendals.

Around 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, a joint team of police officers executed a search warrant on a property occupied by a Trinindadian and Vincentian national.

During the operation, the officers discovered one chrome revolver, several rounds of matching ammunition, and multiple items of camouflage clothing.

The items were seized as part of an ongoing investigation.

Both individuals were arrested on suspicion of Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Ammunition and were taken into custody.

The police are again appealing to the public to report any suspicious activity and share information related to illegal firearms by contacting the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

  1. Jail them rhen place a life-ban on them. We have more than enough homegrown criminals here! It’s time to clean up the country. Let them take with them their fellow countrymen criminals. Crime in St. Vincent and Trinidad has reached epic proportions. Persons from these two territories, particularly, and those from Jamaica, and Santo Domingo who are not gainfully employed need to be kicked out immediately.

  2. If the police search their home and found an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, how comes they were arrested on suspicion of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition . Are you telling me that the police don’t know what a firearm and ammunition look like ? Why say on (suspicion of firearm and ammunition). It’s no longer suspicion, the police have the gun snd ammunition. Bad reporting.
