The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) and the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) have advanced preparations for Barbudans, who will begin arriving in Antigua from Monday.

Following the ruling from Justice Clare Henry on Thursday, which paved the way for Barbudans to cast their ballots in Antigua, during the upcoming General Elections, both offices are working earnestly to fast track logistical arrangements.

Barbudans are now being encouraged to register with NODS through its unit in Barbuda.

Officials from NODS have informed ABEC that to date a number of Barbudans have indicated their willingness to travel to Antigua since hearing the ruling. He anticipates that others will express interest later today and into the weekend.

He assures Barbudans that transportation mainly by ferry, food and accommodation will be covered when they arrive in Antigua.
