Ferris Road Homes Destroyed in Raging Sunday Blaze

Two homes were completely destroyed by fire on Sunday evening in a devastating blaze on Ferris Road, just off Whenner Road.

The St. John’s Fire Department responded swiftly after receiving reports around 5:30 PM, but despite their efforts, the flames had already engulfed both properties by the time crews arrived.

One of the homeowners, speaking anonymously to state media, said he was alerted by a neighbour and had just enough time to escape the inferno, highlighting the speed at which the fire spread.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze. Meanwhile, local officials are urging residents to prioritise fire safety and remain vigilant as the affected community begins recovery efforts.

Yes we have to be more vigilant , but what if this is something that one overlooked, like a shortage in an electrical socket ect ? Not everyone has eyes for these things.

  2. It’s the rasta man who burnt it down let’s see what the police does now, so it’s actually four houses this man burn just because of land .

  3. People keep talking about electrical fault, I am an electrician, and what is used now for fire safety in homed now is AFCI outlets or circuit breakers that will shut off if there is a spark wether by drop cords or appliances, that’s what should be pushed in Antigua now, and the anomaly of APUA been the power provider and inspector is a conflict, the DCA in other countries is who does electrical inspection and could be the body to institute these latest safety for home owners.
