Tourism Minister Charles “Max” Fernandez will represent Antigua and Barbuda at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Air Connectivity Summit in Bermuda on Feb. 24, joining regional leaders in discussions on the future of Caribbean aviation.
According to the Caribbean Tourism Organization, Fernandez is scheduled to participate in the “Caribbean Skies — Ministerial Dialogue,” a high-level session focused on air transport policy, regional connectivity and long-term aviation strategy.
Charles “Max” Fernandez, who holds responsibility for tourism, civil aviation, transportation and investment, oversees several aviation and airport expansion initiatives in Antigua and Barbuda, including major infrastructure projects on both Antigua and Barbuda aimed at strengthening the country’s position as a regional air transport hub.
The inaugural summit, hosted in Bermuda, will bring together ministers, aviation executives and tourism stakeholders to examine current challenges and opportunities in Caribbean airlift. The agenda includes a keynote on the state and future of Caribbean aviation, the unveiling of CTO’s Air Connectivity Study by ASM, expert panels, and focused airside discussions on route development within and beyond the region.

CTO said the one-day meeting is intended to align aviation planning with regional tourism development and to help shape policies that support sustainable growth and improved connectivity across the Caribbean.
