A farmer managed to recover a knapsack of stolen produce after confronting two individuals along the Potworks Dam main road on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report made at the Parham Police Station, the incident unfolded around 2 p.m. on 12 November when the farmer came upon two men dressed in black, each carrying a knapsack filled with local produce.
The pair reportedly fled north as he approached, dropping one of the bags during their escape. The farmer retrieved the knapsack, which contained lemons, avocados and limes valued at roughly $500 EC. He told police the items are believed to have been taken from his truck earlier that day.
He also provided descriptions of the suspects and indicated he would be able to identify them if seen again. Police say investigations are continuing.
