Attorney General of Belize, Magali Marin Young SC, will leave office at the end of June 2023 and return to private practice.
A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister says while Marin Young had indicated upon taking office that she would serve in that post for two years, the OPM is pleased that she stayed on for an additional seven months to serve the nation and people.
The OPM says her achievements in office were many. Positive changes were made during her tenure, including judicial reforms, legal reform, and law revision, and will be felt for years to come.
The Office of the Prime Minister and the entire Cabinet thanked Marin Young for her dedication to professionalism, good governance and sound leadership at the Attorney General’s Ministry and wish her all success in her future endeavours.
