Family Still Fearful Of Burga

Family members of Tahisha Thomas are still worried that Calvin ” Burga” James is planning an attack on the family.

James received two life sentences last week for killing Thomas,  his niece, and Sanchesca Charles, the fiancee of his nephew,  Lawrence James, during a shooting incident in October of 2018.

The nephew was also shot but survived.

Back in 2015, the convict nearly killed another niece, Amanda James when he chopped her multiple times with a cutlass. He also wounded her mother and his sister, Ineta Liburd earlier the same day.

Amanda told state media the incidents are still fresh in her mind.

“This have an effect on me because I’ve been through it in the first time and I see, I’ve actually seen everything the second round”, she said.

The woman also reportedly witnessed when her uncle shot Charles in her head in 2018.

“There’s not one night that goes by that I don’t think about this. Not one night. I still dream about it every night”, she lamented.

Margaret Smith, Thomas’ paternal grandmother said she was concerned the convicted man might attempt to escape from prison to attack family.

“I pray they keep Burga under tight security because if he gets out, Lawrence, Mandy and Amanda, they’ll be gone too”, she cautioned.

  1. That’s exactly why he should get the gallows, an appropriate and biblical punishment for a killer. Only then will it all be over, and justice will triumph.
