Dear Editor,
Last Sunday, while at work, I received a call from my mom. She asked if I was sitting down and I wondered why the question, but I said Yes I was. She said, are you sure and I replied Yes I was since I had slid into my seat.
She said I just received a call that your brother got married yesterday. I asked which brother since I have three; two of which are supposedly single. She said you know which one. I said so what’s the news. She said he didn’t show up for the wedding. I was on WhatsApp with my older sister and I said to her, did you hear what mommy said. She said… Nothing tall go so. Of which my mom responded that the person who called is very reliable and would not have called if it was false.
For the rest of the day, I fielded calls asking if the story was true. I left work and went home, visited with my mom and a cousin and went to my room. A creature of habit, when I settle in for the evening, the only electronic on is my television on a good mystery. By 5 o’clock the next morning my phone blew up with 28 messages.
I called my sister… She said it’s true… She spoke to my brother. As a matter of fact, he was on his way to work… WORK!!
Words cannot express how much I have prayed for this young lady to whom my heart goes out to at this time. For the record, none of his family knew about the wedding… My 83-year-old mom is still sitting with her hand under chin asking if there is any news…
My Dear Bride to Be, For all of the names that you are calling him he is that and so much more. I would not want this or dream this to happen to anyone… I have children, nieces, cousins etc. and the ball can always turn on its axis. Our family is not huge. We come from humble, poor beginnings, but we have class and my mom would say UPBROUGHTSY. I know that there are two sides to every story, and your curiosity didn’t peak to ask why there was no one invited to the wedding representing the groom. Obviously, he told you his version.. of which its neither here nor there at this time.
I do apologize from the bottom of my heart for this horrible, horrific, unjust situation on behalf of my mom and the rest of us who have been diligently praying on this matter…Praying For You and Him.. cause he needs prayers too, to have been so heartless. No one deserves this. No One… I pray to God to grant you comfort and peace. I pray that you have the confidence to face the world and know that God is speaking. On another note do what you must to make it right for you…. No one deserves this.
