The parents of nine-year-old Chantel Crump are pressing police to release the findings of a second autopsy, saying they cannot wait until November to learn what killed their daughter.
Chantel’s parents are due to meet Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers on Monday to request the report, which was recently completed by an overseas pathologist.
Police have told the family the results will only be disclosed in court on 5 November.

“We have waited for months,” her father said. “We are her parents. We deserve to know what killed our child.”
Chantel was abducted on her way home from Five Islands Primary School earlier this year.
She was later found dead in Weatherhills.
A 20-year-old woman, Angela Mejia, has been charged with her murder.
The first autopsy was inconclusive, leading investigators to send tissue samples abroad.
The Crumps say the delay in receiving answers has deepened their grief.
“We have suffered enough,” her father said. “We just want the truth.”

Strategically, while the family rightfully ask for an expedited/prioritized autopsy and it’s result, they should demand that due process and constitutional rights for any accused be protected. Doing so would make this family the most decent and dignified family in Antigua and Barbuda, practically the entire Caribbean.
I want them to preserve the purity of Chantel and let there be no victimization in her name. That baby CHANTEL is too good and pure for that. Justice must reign at all times.
Demand for proper investigation that includes autopsies and it’s result but also demand justice to be served. Justice. Justice cannot be handed without due process and constitutional rights to all parties.
I am now demanding for victim rights statutes and victim rights constitutional rights to be enacted in Antigua and Barbuda. Victims should be treated with respect and considered throughout the criminal justice processes.
So they have the results and telling the parents who have been waiting forever to wait another forever? Come on. They deserve the right to know…these people suffer enough
I cannot believe that the parents have not received the autopsy reports on Chantel. How cruel!
We the public at large do not need to know before her parents, but after the heinous Murder and kidnapping of Chantel her loving yet more than heartbroken parents should have been given the results months ago.
How on earth are the relevant authorities going to spin this unacceptable delay?
Mercy, wherever you look into how things are run here in the country, there are delays and more delays in long-term issues – not good enough from our highly paid public servants.
Is Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬 irreparably broken?
A poor family living in the ghetto who highly depends and look up to this government for assistance, continued to be bamboozled.
Are you telling me you’ve been sitting on this result all this time and still to this day the child parents don’t know the true cause of their kids death? Is this another inconclusive result or you’re just playing and taking advantage of this family because you know they are powerless. WICKED!
November? And the results already there? Smh
I can understand if they don’t make the autopsy public but why keep it’s findings from the parents. They mostly need to know how their child died
The way dem see um she done dead and gone. Remember the parents from Grays Farm not Crosbies or one sophisticated area, oh yes, an she black an pickie head
This child can’t even reciebe justice in the grave
Keeping the results from her parents is just unfair they have every right to know
The pain this family is going through is unimaginable. The least they deserve is transparency.
Their pain did not stop at the discovery of their daughter’s body. It went on and all now they are still suffering when it comes to information.
Why make the family suffer like this tho. Is it punishment for them for coming to the media? Asking for a friend
But e hear them get the money and that Michael Joseph sweet them up to make them.feel validated, and that Michael Joseph use the Chantel vehicle to political recognition to get elected.
That’s is all.
