A family is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man captured on surveillance footage following an incident involving a minor at a supermarket near Old Parham Road.
In a social media post shared on Sunday, a relative of the child said the man entered a supermarket located by a patty shop near Old Parham Road and allegedly approached the young girl, who was unknown to him.
The relative stated that the child had gone to the store to make a purchase but was left shaken by the encounter and immediately returned home to her parents.
“Help us locate him… so we can get the name to the police officers that are involved,” the post read, describing the individual as “the guy in the white.”
An image taken from the store’s security camera shows a man wearing a white shirt and dark pants inside the establishment.
The family indicated that the matter has been reported and is urging anyone who may recognize the individual to come forward with information that could assist police investigations.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident.

Why my mind like that, instantly I thought……. Oops my bad
There is no supermarket in town known as St. Johns supermarket. Call the supermarket name. There is no libel sue there or defamation of character. If the child enter Christopher or any other supermarket there say where . When you all should not mention names you all are doing it. We need to find this guy. Please give proper information
Yuk!
I must instruct the public to never provide information to anyone in a situation like this where no clear crime or egregious conduct is being alleged. What on earth do you need this man’s name for. Say it, and if justified, the public should provide it.
I say this because I see a lot of cyber bullying and putting innocent folks in false light. Talking to a kid is not a crime or egregious conduct. Say what was done. Or else stop ruining the life of people.
Sick and tired of the ignorance in Antigua, with incompetence.
In agreement with ‘My way of helping’. The police are required to investigate incidents. The last time I checked, the general public are not the police. This ‘article’ is from a social media post with no clear indication as to what allegedly transpired with the image of someone who allegedly did what exactly? If the police make a request for information from the public due to an investigation into a crime fair enough. But some random online person leading the charge is not the correct way to deal with things and potentially is a breach of privacy laws by the shop owner for providing the video footage and the newspaper for publishing the image and the story. If this man has assaulted a child, is investigated for doing so, tried and found guilty of doing so then I hope he gets all that’s coming to him however this online vigilante nonsense must stop. Because if nothing tarl go so, someone’s life could very well have been ruined by the paper running this story. Proper police investigation is called for and journalistic ethics must prevent this type of story being run again.
