Families Left in Anguish as Missing Persons Cases Remain Unsolved

4

Annually, numerous individuals vanish, leaving families and communities distraught and uncertain.

Despite exhaustive search efforts, their whereabouts remain unknown, complicating the resolution of missing persons cases.

Commissioner Atlee Rodney acknowledged the challenges during an Observer radio program, highlighting law enforcement’s persistent efforts through searches, community engagement, and collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Defense Force.

However, the absence of clear motives or information hampers investigations, making it difficult to determine if disappearances are linked to mental health issues, foul play, or other factors.

Identifying victims becomes another hurdle, with DNA testing often requiring overseas analysis, though plans for a local forensic laboratory are in progress to streamline this process.

Notable cases include Hyacinth Gage, Roman Mussabekov, and Vincia James, whose disappearances remain unresolved, leaving families with unanswered questions and legal complexities.

  1. One has forgotten the lady from Whenner Road almost 10 years ago, and Casper from Gilpin’s avenue? The young lady Josiah who left her mother’s yard in Potters and never reached her Grays Farm home, the relative of Roti King whose car was left opened and no sight of him up to now are a few more I do remember! There are many more!

  2. Antigua is a such a small place yet these incidents cannot be accounted for. Let us not forget also those individuals who were murdered in broad day light and yet the perpetrators have not been caught……

  3. I believe that organ trafficking is happening in Antigua, did you notice them stem cell business on friars hill road, with people flying in from the USA to get organ replacement, that place couldn’t have grown these body parts that quick, the same is happening in Africa, missing people, and black people are perfect.
