Stakeholders on Renewable Energy sat down with Energy Minister Hon. Melford Nicholas to discuss more collaborative ways to reach certain targets mandated by the Paris Agreement.

The discussions examined collaborative ways to reach climate action goals, including mitigating and adapting to climate change, with transparent reporting and strengthening of the said goals.

Minister Nicholas said the impact the process and some imperatives have on APUA need to be ironed out specifically when it relates to the grid, integrating renewable energy from resources on the island.

This, being the first meeting, saw staff from the Department of the Environment, APUA, the Ministry of Health, and the Energy Unit.

  1. This renewable energy scheme is a fraud, the bigger country going nuclear power while so called third world countries are dictated at to buy American energy product it’s a marketing money making scheme that is very costly and unreliable when you take into consideration the volatility of the weather, stop fooling yourself APUA is committed to hadeed, even if hurricane take down all the poles APUA have to pay hadeed and also if hadeed plant break down he still will be paid, haven’t you all realize that the daily power interruption does affect APUA revenue , they just simply ask the accountant to do historical billing estimates to keep the company afloat paying salaries, if power goes off in the USA, stock market crash and bankruptcy because they got a utility commission they can’t advantage their customers like APUA does in Antigua.
