Election Day Do’s and Don’ts

Residents in St. Peter will go to the polls on Tuesday, 14th January 2025 for a by-election.

Here are a few tips for voters:

DOs

  • Polling begins at 6 am and ends at 6 pm.
  • Take instructions from the Presiding Officer.
  • Make sure that your voter identification card is ready.
  • Pay attention to the party symbols on the ballot.
  • Make your mark for ONE candidate.
  • Ask questions if you are unsure about the voting procedure.

DON’Ts

  • Provisions will be made for phones and smartwatches to be taken upon entering the polling stations. These devices will not be allowed in the voting area.
  • Electors should not be disruptive or disrespectful at the polling station.
  • Electors should not mark the ballot for more than one candidate.
  • Electors should not wear party colours to the polling stations.
  • No election paraphernalia within 100 yards of the polling station.
