So who performed battery on whom?
From this video it would seem that the detainee was on the receiving end of the battery. This is disgusting.
Wickedness, the Commissioner needs to control these rouges in police uniform. Now this man has to spend money, time and energy to defend himself against this foolish charge.
All he had to do was comply with the instructions of the police in the first instance.. not that I will ever agree with what happened to him that’s abuse in all form, but there’s a saying in the army… obey orders and complain afterwards. Now he is being charged
God don’t sleep, according to the public outcry and the video footage it seems as if the battery came from the police officer…, but who am I to speak?
Imagine he has a disability and brain problem and at his age like handling an child did you all find out how this policeman approach this man did he do it in a good manner, because he is a policeman you think he need to treat that man that can be his father shame shame on you all
Wickedness in the highest degree. Whether he complies or not. Why not ticket him. Anyway KARMA NEVER MISS ANY ONE.
You have the nerve to charge a man of that age who could be your father or grandfather. Just give the man a stern warning and let him go on his way
Under the leadership of the Police Commissioner who has allowed this type of abusive behavior by his officers.
In turn he has been allowed by the attorney general to run a police department primarily to serve he and his boss Gaston Browne needs and wishes.
Most of the population is at risk for this type of treatment.
The abuse is wrong, but why is he driving if he has these medical issues. Let’s suppose for arguments sake he was driving onbthe freeway and had some sort of attack and press gas instead of brakes and mash up somebody. We all need to be responsible. The police also needs to take responsibility for their actions.
GOD never Sleeps
1735 for his insolent self. He sat in the chair when being spoken to by the officer. The officer didn’t go by himself, he was called to remove this aging THUG. You never to old for lickle bread and hard cheese. You dunce boy didn’t see assault because you didn’t go station. Life goes beyond the video clip idiots
@Stone:
Nothing excuses the officers behavior, especially to a senior.
Know the story before commenting. The Police’s arrogance is to blame and his family must take legal action. Yes he was parked on the pavement. He was first approached agressively by a plain clothes officer who did not identify himself until the old man told him to get out of his face because his breath was stink. That angered the plain clothes officer who got angry and left, returning with the uniformed pig. They both must have seen the handicap sticker on the car if they were doing their job properly. Then the rest is on the video. A simple traffic offence escalated by police who have no manners and no upbringing and obviously no empathy. This was a frail old man who could have been their great grandfather. Under any circumstance this was unacceptable and wrong. I hope those cops are disciplined and dismissed and then sued for everything they have.
God will find them.all
this story here goes both ways. the man could’ve simply moved his car and the police could’ve simply given him a ticket. wickness escapes no man. neither does the law
All the police was to do was call for a wrecker how can he put his hand on our elderly citizens. Detain the vehicle and charge a fine. No need to abuse the man then claim the man abuse you. The man was clearly sitting in the video.
So you mean to tell me that the police charged the man for assault 🤔. Clearly we can see who was being assisted. What a bunch of wicked people. Your time will come eh.
Wickedness. My grand mother would say so. I hope this never happens to the father or grand father of none of these cops. Them agai. Maybe it should. This is how they will understand how it feels.
He should not have treated him that way, real criminals are not treated like that.
Whenever a police beats a civilian it’s the civilian gets battery charge. That’s y it’s good to beat them and then take ur charge in peace
The stink mouth officer stop the man several times when he was trying to drive away….he said so himself.
Did I see wrong? Or did they placed him in the trunk?
Now this old man has put all elderly drivers in a very bad light. It’s bad enough that the elderly have to pay a doctor at least $100 for an examination report, to the Transport Board, thereby costing the elderly an annual fee of $170 for the renewal of driver’s license. The next cry we might hear is “Get them old people off our roads!” Old man, you did not represent your age-group well at all
That being said, however, the police should have exercised more restraint in dealing with this eighty + year-old. To literally drag him by the collar and shove him into the trunk of what seemed like a private vehicle.is NOT acceptable!
On the other hand though, this elderly man who should be a role-model of sorts, chose to teach
a wrong lesson to younger men and women who witnessed the unfortunate incident. The old man chose to ignore instructions from a uniformed police officer. WRONG!. When it suits the public, we join in the chant, “No man is above the Law!” Why the exception in this case? Juveniles and elderly are NOT allowed to break the Law with impunity. Next time, just do the right thing, old man! Obey the Law, and that goes for everybody regardless of colour, class, creed, gender or age
