Elation from Antigua and Barbuda as India Achieves First Moon Landing

India’s remarkable achievement of successfully landing a spacecraft near the Moon’s South Pole has earned congratulations from Antigua and Barbuda.

E.P Chet Greene, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, conveyed a message of felicitation to the Indian High Commission in Guyana, highlighting how India’s achievement brings celebration to the developing world.

Minister Greene emphasized that this milestone marks a significant stride in lunar exploration, extending pride to India’s Government, its people, and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

India has now entered the exclusive league of nations that have softly landed on the Moon, joining the US, former Soviet Union, and China.

The triumphant touch down of the Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander at 18:04 local time was met with nationwide celebrations, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared, “India is now on the Moon.”

This success is attributed to a dedicated generation of ISRO scientists and follows Russia’s recent lunar setback with the Luna-25 spacecraft.
